Gary whitt, a famous American screenwriter, answered in the framework of the AMA session the question of one of the fans who asked what game the writer would like to see in the form of a full-length adaptation. As it turned out, Witt is most interested in mystical action CONTROL from the Finnish team Remedy entertainment. Moreover, the screenwriter is even personally ready to work on such a project.
What is curious the Twitter correspondence didn’t end there, as Remedy senior PR manager joined her almost immediately Thomas Poohwho invited Witte to chat, and probably discuss in more detail the likelihood of potential collaboration.
Gary Witt is well acquainted with the gaming industry. He had a hand in films like “Book of Eli“and”Outcast One. Star Wars Tales“as well as several episodes of the interactive series The walking dead from studio Telltale games. Moreover, for a long time, Witt served as the chief editor of the famous gaming publication PC Gamer.
As for Remedy itself, the Finnish studio and its chief creative director Sam Lake are well known for their interest in unusual experiments tied to an atypical presentation of the story, often combining a variety of formats – from classic cutscenes to clips with live actors and even full-fledged mini series.
So, in 2010, the release of atmospheric adventure Alan wake accompanied by a six-part prequel Bright falls, telling about the events that unfolded in the quiet town of Bright Falls before the unfortunate writer got there. And the project of 2016 Quantum break and completely shared the narrative between the “game” and “serial” parts, which complemented each other, allowing you to get a clearer picture of the plot.
Of course, it is not a fact that the initiative of Gary Whitt will result in a collaboration with Remedy Entertainment, but now it remains only to follow further news.
