Confirmed: Xbox Series S Will Not Run Backward Compatible Xbox One X Enhanced Games

Company Microsoft officially confirmed the information that appeared earlier that Xbox Series S console will not be backward compatible with enhanced versions of Xbox One X games

In comments for the site GameSpew a representative of the platform holder said that when launching games in backward compatibility mode on Xbox Series S, the console will not apply the improvements available on Xbox One X to them… That being said, older projects will still look and play better on Xbox Series S thanks to improved texture filtering, higher and more stable frame rates, faster load times and automatic HDR. The Xbox Series S is four times more powerful than the standard Xbox One, so you can expect dynamic resolution games to take advantage of the new console as well.

Please note that we are talking only about those games that will not get an update for Xbox Series… Microsoft itself has already confirmed that a number of its titles, including Forza horizon 4 and Gears 5 will be optimized for both consoles for their launch, and games created immediately for the Xbox Series generation, such as DiRT 5, Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla, Watch Dogs: Legion, The medium and others seem to run on Series S with the same capabilities as Series X, except for resolution.

“The Xbox Series S was designed to be the most affordable next-gen console, capable of playing nextgen games at 1440p at 60 FPS,” said a Microsoft spokesman.

Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S will launch in Russia simultaneously with the whole world 10th November by price 26,990 and 45,590 rubles
