Commandos 2 HD remaster released with censorship – review

German troops completely lost the swastika. All imperial insignia was removed from Japanese aircraft, which makes no sense. The enemies on whom we use the flamethrower do not light up, but simply clutch their heads and fall dead.

The situation was clarified by a representative of the studio. He noted that there will be a single international version of the game for all possible markets. And it will not have any symbols, portraits, slogans and other assets that could violate at least some laws.
As a company, we must comply with the laws, but we want our users to get the best experience from our game without encountering potential release delays or even bans in certain countries.

So we went to these measures so that it would not be necessary to separate the players into groups and so that the game could not be prohibited in certain regions.

The developers also added that the smeared symbols do not affect the gameplay, since Commandos 2: HD Remaster is a video game, and not a historical document of the Second World War. And they do not force anyone to buy what they did.
