Friday compilation BioShock: The Collection released on Nintendo Switch. At the same time, developers quietly updated the collection on consoles Sony and Microsoftby adding support for the PlayStation 4 Pro and Xbox One X to each part of the trilogy.
The full list of improvements is not disclosed, but the reviews of the losers indicate at least an increased resolution. According to channel analysis Vg tech on the example of a remaster of the first BioShock, we are talking about 4K on the Xbox one x and 1440p on the PS4 Pro. Prior to this, both consoles displayed a picture in 1080p, like standard versions of consoles, while the increased resolution did not harm the performance. In the tested fragment, the game almost always shows stable 60 FPSexcept for one scene with a lot of explosions and fire, where both consoles sank to 42-44 FPS. There is also a bug in the Xbox One X version that causes image jitter not related to frame rate.
Similarly, VG Tech tested the patched version. BioShock: Infinite. Both there and there the game works in 1440pbut on the side Xbox one x better quality compared to PS4 Pro texture filtering. In terms of speed, everything is in order here too: almost stable 60 FPS with rare drawdowns of 1-2 frames. The most noticeable drop in frequency occurred in the scene where the character moves on the rail: there the frame rate fell to 51 FPS and 46 FPS on the Xbox One X and PS4 Pro, respectively.
