Mike Mika, head of the studio Digital eclipse, became a guest of the podcast GamerHubTV, where he talked about the possibility of re-release Marvel vs. Capcom 2 on modern platforms.
The HD version of the fighting game, released in 2000, appeared on the Xbox 360 and PS3 in 2009, but after four years it was removed due to the expiration of the license.
According to Mike, Digital Eclipse reached out to Capcom and Disney with a proposal to make a remaster, but so far has not received an answer. At the same time, the companies are aware of how much fans want to see the fighting game on current gaming systems. This, at least, was evidenced by a summer flash mob in social networks with a hashtag # FreeMvC2…
Note that Digital Eclipse has long been specialized in the release of various retro compilations.
