Google reported that in the assembly of Chrome 84, which will be released on July 14, there will be a system of protection against annoying notifications from sites. In this case, it will be enabled by default.
In the new version of the browser, instead of a separate dialogue, a blocking prompt in the form of a crossed out bell will be displayed in the address bar. When you click, you can give permission to notifications or block them again.
This mode will work on sites that previously found abuse of notifications. Among these may be fictitious messages resembling data from chats.
Such a move is expected to be another step to increase the security of the Chrome browser and its web browsers. In any case, it’s so conceived. At the same time, it is noted that such an opportunity will be implemented on all supported platforms: desktop and mobile.
