Chinese company Visionox announced the start of production of the world’s first sub-screen camera for smartphones. Given that the manufacturer is engaged in the production of OLED displays, this is a logical step.
The parameters of the camera itself are not specified, but software and hardware systems have already been announced to improve the quality of shooting. This is a zone of greater transparency in the place where the camera is installed, a special pixel structure, and software processing of images.
It has not yet been announced when new cameras will appear on smartphones, but, obviously, this will happen no earlier than 2023-22, since this approach will require saturation of the market with appropriate modules and displays.
However, the market entry of such solutions will allow you to abandon the cutouts on the screen and make the displays truly frameless.
