Chimera Squad introduced three new agents – review

Developers XCOM: Chimera Squad from studio Firaxis published new game trailers in which they presented three agents: Tank Cherub, Patchwork engineer and psionic Shelter.

Cherub (or Cherub) was among a group of clones who, by the end of the war, had been trained, but not ideologically processed, in ADVENT. He was found alive in the ADVENT laboratory, and then transferred to a temporary detention center for rigorous testing.

When tests confirmed that he had no sympathy for ADVENT, he was recruited by XCOM for a trial period.

Since then, Cherub’s positive attitude and enthusiasm have helped to raise the morale of those around him. His efforts to support his comrades and improve their location have repeatedly proved his dedication.

Patchwork lost her entire family during the invasion and suffered three painful amputations. She ended up in an ADVENT orphanage, where she was given limb prostheses and used as propaganda as evidence of the aliens’ goodwill.

Her brilliant intellect and ability to technology competed only with curiosity. Finding evidence of ADVENT’s atrocities, she organized her own salvation with XCOM and joined their cause.

Patchwork’s specialty is technology. She is a valuable fighter against robotic opponents, a master security hacker and expert in the strategic use of deadly electric shocks.

Shelter was separated from his family during the invasion, and then transferred to a migrant camp. When he began to show signs of psionic abilities, he was sent to the ADVENT research center for human psionics.

ADVENT forced him to use his abilities to harm others, and ultimately he escaped from their control.

Now he is part of the Chimera squad and prefers to use his abilities for protection. It applies positive effects to allies, moves both friends and opponents, and can even create a clone with the same abilities.

XCOM: Chimera Squad will be released on April 24 on PC. Until May 1, the game can be bought at Steam at a discount of 50% for 499 rubles.
