Yoshinori Ono, who served for many years as a producer in Capcom and responsible for brand development Street fighter in particular, he announced his departure from the Japanese company.
Ono has been with Capcom for almost 30 years. Since 1998, the developer has been promoting the Street Fighter series, which in recent years has become the titular leader among fighting games.
In a statement posted on Twitter, Ono did not give a reason for leaving, but only thanked the community for its support and said that “a new generation” will now lead the brand.

Earlier, there were rumors of Capcom abandoning the vision Street fighter vioffered by Ono. According to a trusted industry insider, the company has made the decision to change the project leader.
In addition to Street Fighter, Yoshinori Ono produced the long-running PS4 game Deep Down, announced by Capcom in 2013. What will happen to the project next is still unknown.
In August, Street Fighter V was updated with new characters, activities, and more. Support for the project will end in autumn 2023.
