Capcom Announces Record Q1 Revenue – Helped by Resident Evil Village and Monster Hunter Rise

Revenue of the company Capcom in the first quarter of the 2023-2023 fiscal year ended June 30, reached the 48.4 billion yen ($ 440 million) and turned out to be a record one. This is stated in the official press release. Compared to the same period last year, the indicators increased by 104.1%

Operating profit jumped by 120.4% – up to 23.6 billion yen ($ 214.8 million), net profit – by 121.9%, to 17.3 billion yen ($ 157.5 million). The main drivers were Resident evil village and Monster hunter rise Horror sales as of June 30 – 4.5 million copies, role-playing action – over 7 million copies

Total Capcom sold in the first quarter 13.3 million copies of games – in addition to new products, old hits for different platforms continue to be in demand.

The Japanese publisher hopes that Resident Evil Village will eventually surpass Resident Evil 7 in sales (9 million copies as of March 31, 2023).

  • Resident Evil – 117 million copies (+7 million)
  • Monster Hunter – 75 million copies (+3 million)
  • Street Fighter – 46 million
  • Mega Man – 37 million (+1 million)
  • Devil May Cry – 24 million (+1 million)
  • Dead Rising – 14 million
