Finnish player Janne “Savjz” Mikkonen from the team Team liquid turned out not to be allowed to tournaments Hearthstone. And about why Blizzard against his participation, said Mikkonen’s wife, Christina.
As it turned out, Kristina Mikkonen was among the 800 Blizzard employees who were fired during the reduction in early 2019 – this mainly affected the community managers. At the same time, in the summer the company announced a new recruitment for the same posts.
Kristina Mikkonen at that time left a number of angry and somewhat offensive Twitter messages addressed to the company’s management and current managers. The girl suggests that this could be the main reason for her husband’s disgrace.
According to Savjz, his wife’s work could also influence Blizzard’s decision in another aspect: the company might fear that the athlete would have access to some internal information that he might give to his “disloyal” spouse.
After Mikkonen and his wife described the situation, a representative of Blizzard contacted the player. He assured that the reason was the refusal to sign the NDA agreement, although Savjz himself assured that no one had offered him this.
Be that as it may, the problem is resolved: Janne “Savjz” Mikkonen can participate in Hearthstone tournaments. He was even allowed to bring his wife with him as a guest. There were no official comments from Blizzard.
