Group of veterans Blizzard and Epic Games founded the studio Lightforge Games…
According to executive director Matt Shembari, the studio’s first game will be cross-platform with social elements. The authors intend to mix elements from Minecraft or Roblox with tabletop RPGs to shape a new way of RPG gaming.
In addition to veterans from Blizzard and Epic Games, Lightforge Games also employs developers from Riot Games, BioWare and Zenimax Online. The studio has worked on Fortnite, World of Warcraft, Diablo III, Star Wars: The Old Republic, Hearthstone, StarCraft 2, Overwatch, and The Elder Scrolls Online.
So far, the Lightforge Games team consists of 11 people.
Lightforge Games has already raised $ 5 million in investments from companies such as Galaxy Interactive, NetEase Games and Dreamhaven. The latter, together with other veterans of Blizzard, was founded by the former head and co-founder of Blizzard Mike Morheim.
