December 2019 2K Games officially announced a new BioShock… The development of the game was taken up by a new team formed under the wing of the publishing house Cloud chamber, but after more than two years, almost nothing is known about the project.
Thankfully, the studio’s fresh job openings have helped shed some light on what to expect from the upcoming sequel.
At the moment, Cloud Chamber requires several specialists at once, including an artificial intelligence programmer, an interface designer, a toolbox programmer, a senior world designer, a senior technical designer, and a senior screenwriter. The latter, as indicated in the vacancy, will work in the studio’s Montreal office and help the team with narrative content for BioShock 4… The studio is looking for someone who can “create impressive open-world stories with a focus on characters.”…
In addition, the Senior Writer will have to brainstorm the content of the main and secondary missions, as well as help in writing and implementing the core of the story, including dialogues and other elements of the narrative. He will report directly to the lead scriptwriter of the project.
Other interesting details are hidden in the job description of an AI programmer, which says that his job will include developing a “system of urban crowds” and “systemic tribal ecology of sometimes hostile AI.”
New BioShock is created on the basis of the engine Unreal Engine 4… There are no approximate release dates yet.
