Bethesda officially became part of Microsoft – Xbox owners promised exclusives and release of games in Game Pass from day one

All legal formalities related to the takeover of the company ZeniMax Media corporation Microsoft were officially completed – the parties announced that the process of their merger was officially completed.

Now under the roof Microsoft passed eight game studios, namely Bethesda Game Studios, id Software, ZeniMax Online Studios, Arkane, MachineGames, Tango Gameworks, Alpha dog and Roundhouse studios

In addition to the developers listed above, from now on Microsoft owns exclusive rights to all of their assets and intellectual property, including such iconic gaming franchises as Fallout, The elder scrolls, DOOM and many others.

On the occasion of the completion of the transaction with ZeniMax addressed the audience personally Phil Spencer, the current head of the gaming division Microsoft… In a text publication, the top manager told what exactly the purchase was ZeniMax means for the brand Xbox and in which direction the partners are going to develop further

“Today is the biggest day in Xbox history. We are delighted to announce the close of our acquisition of ZeniMax Media, parent company of Bethesda Softworks. We are delighted to welcome eight talented studios to our team – Bethesda Game Studios, id Software, ZeniMax Online Studios, Arkane, MachineGames, Tango Gameworks, Alpha Dog and Roundhouse Studios Now that everything is officially finalized, we can start working on more great games, and every step of the way we have been inspired by the creativity, vision and player-centricity that Bethesda is famous for. Among other things, Phil Spencer also made an important remark regarding Bethesda’s game projects. The top manager said bluntly that the best platforms for getting to know them would be the Xbox and PC. At the same time, in the future, the audience of these systems can count on exclusives

But not every game seems to be exclusive. The English-language blog uses the word “some”:

“This move marks our desire to create an industry-leading internal development team that will work for the Xbox community. […] The best places to experience Bethesda games are Xbox consoles, PC consoles, and Game Pass. including some new games that will be available exclusively on Xbox and PC“.

On the contrary, according to the Russian-language official version of the appeal, we can conclude that everyone will be exclusive:

“This is our next step towards building the best-of-breed development team for our Xbox community. It’s not just Bethesda’s creative teams. Players need hardly be reminded that Xbox family consoles, PCs, and Game Pass are the best way to experience. Bethesda projects, including future ones that will be available exclusively on Xbox and PC“- stated in the official address of Phil Spencer.

It is noteworthy that before Phil Spencer noted that the issue of the availability of certain games Bethesda on platforms other than Xbox and PC, will be decided individually, on a case-by-case basis.

Recall that for the first time information about the merger Microsoft and ZeniMax Media appeared last fall. The transaction amount is estimated at $ 7.5 billion
