Add-in Denuvo anti-cheat was added to Doom eternal for several reasons. Firstly, in order to protect the players of the regime BATTLEMODE from dishonest users. And secondly, in order to pre-set the anti-cheat operation before another multi-user mode is introduced into the project – Intrusionswhich will erase the border between the multiplayer and single player aspects of the game as a whole.
Program from Denuvo really interacts directly with OS kernelhowever, for this very reason Bethesda and id Software gave her preference. Thus, the authors of the game could be sure that the cheaters would be punished, and the general integration of the anti-cheat system, privacy settings and its security fully met all the necessary requirements.
Representative id Software also notes that the team was very attentive to the issue of combating cheaters after a sad experience with Doom (2016)when criticism fell upon the studio due to sluggishness regarding measures against dishonest players in the multiplayer modes of that release.
However, amid recent complaints Bethesda with id Software came to a new solution: the next DOOM Eternal update will completely remove the Denuvo Anti-Cheat system from the game.
The subsequent introduction of similar measures aimed at combating cheaters will be considered further, but with a more in-depth study of the issue. Perhaps a new anti-cheat will appear in the project by the time the game gets competitive ranking modes. But even then the solution will be limited only to multiplayer aspects: players who prefer to go exclusively plot campaign will not be affected in principle.
Further id Software tried to dispel several myths. So, introduction Denuvo anti-cheat into the project was a decision made solely by the developers themselves, Bethesda did not exert any pressure or insist on such measures.
In turn complaints about reduced performance, crashes and other errors – are not related to the Denuvo program, but caused by some changes in the lines of the game code.
