In 2016, the once popular streamer James “Phantoml0rd” Varga received a lifetime ban on Twitch… The channel’s management accused him of fraud: Varga advertised a roulette website CSGOShuffle and allegedly “twisted” the chances of winning skins from CS: GO…
In 2018, Varga filed a lawsuit on Twitch. And now a former streamer announced about their unconditional victory: Twitch’s counterclaim was dismissed, charges in connection with CSGOShuffle were dropped, material compensation was awarded. True, instead of 35 million, Varga will receive only about 21 thousand dollars.
Nevertheless, Phantoml0rd is confident that this is a great victory, and not only for him, but for all streamers. It will not be so easy for the platform to lie to its users, intimidate them and show injustice.
The streamer can now return to his Twitch channel, but is unlikely to want to do so five years later. The streaming platform does not comment on its loss in any way.
