The reason for the cancellation of the event is called the coronavirus pandemic. The organizers do not want to risk the health of visitors and attendants of the festival.
“At Star Wars Celebration, the health and safety of our fans, visitors, the press, guests and employees is always our number one priority,” the organizers said in a statement. “Due to the global impact of COVID-19 and as a result of discussions with local and state authorities about the latest public health principles regarding indoor charges, we decided to cancel Star Wars Celebration.”
What is noteworthy, the festival was postponed not for one year, but for two at once. Now the next one will take place only from August 18 to August 22, 2023.
Whether Disney will make announcements for the festival online is not announced.
