Legendary animation studio Ghibli officially announced its new film. It’s not about the tape “How are you?” Hayao Miyazakibut about CG anime staged by the son of a legendary animator – Goro Miyazaki.
The new painting is called “Aya and the Witch“. It will be based on a novel Earwig and the witch for authorship Diana Wynn Jones. The broadcast of the future film will take place already this winter on a Japanese TV channel NHK-G.
Unfortunately, Ghibli has not yet shared any materials. The plot of the new tape is also not reported, but certain assumptions can be built on the basis of the synopsis of the original book, which reads as follows:
“Not every child will like to live in St. Morvald’s orphanage, but Irvig tries not to lose heart. She always gets what she needs, and just when she wants it. Her life has been like this, right from the moment she they threw her up and condemned to life as an orphan, but Irvig’s life changes completely when she is kidnapped by a powerful witch along with a dragon who pretended to be the adoptive parents of the girl.
So Irvig finds himself in a mysterious house full of invisible rooms, potions and magic books. Any other child would try to escape from such a frightening place, but not Irvig. The girl, relying on her ingenuity, decides to teach her kidnapper a lesson and show her who is in charge. “
