The first reviews of critics for the new horror appeared on the network Neil Blomkamp (“District No. 9”), which turned out to be devastating.
The Demonica plot tells the story of a heroine who immerses herself in a simulation to help her mother. But as a result, some evil breaks loose and penetrates into reality.
On the Rotten tomatoes the project was given “0% freshness” based on ten debut reviews. On the Metacritic cases are “slightly” better – 37 points out of 100 on 6 reviews. Assessment on IMDb is 4.9 according to 137 users, but in one of the few reviews the author suggested that the film could even bury the director’s career.
The main problem is that the tape is more like an exercise in technology and CGI, almost forgetting about the characters and history. The picture has interesting ideas about obsession, but in the end it all comes down to a banal and cliché story that has been shown on the screen many times.
In addition, almost all reviews indicate that the film is not scary at all, despite attempts to show scary moments.
The release of “Demonica” in select cinemas and digital distribution will take place on 20 August.
