Resource Moderator Resetetwriting under a nickname Dusk golemHaving previously revealed fairly accurate information about various horror projects, he again decided to share his information about the series. Resident evil. Instead of telling about one single title, an insider opened the veil of secrecy over Capcom’s internal kitchen, carefully touching several of its developments at once, including both the released projects and those just about to be released. We have written out the most important thing for you.
- Supplement for Resident evil 7 called End of zoe originally had nothing to do with Zoe, Jack and Joe Bakers. First responsible for the addon Jordan Amaropreviously had a hand in creating a playable teaser P.T. from Hideo Kojima. Amaro joined the Capcom team immediately with very big ambitions – he was interested in acting as the development manager for the next license plate part of Resident Evil. Based on assets in Resident Evil 7, Amaro creates a small prototype that focuses on fights using a variety of edged weapons and an interactive environment. The resulting test demo impresses Capcom management very much, however, instead of a full-fledged game, all successful ideas are adapted for the DLC, which will later turn into the End of Zoe extension we know. The current situation afflicted Amaro very much, and in early 2017 he left the company. He currently works at Nintendo.
- Developing a remake of Resident Evil 2 was an extremely difficult process. Many elements of the game underwent constant changes, the authors experimented with the game camera, whole separate sections and mechanics. The system of pairwise scenarios was thrown back in the early stages of the creation of the game, but soon after the presentation of the first trailer, the developers decided to try to implement the idea in the project in at least some form. Ultimately, this resulted in the presence in Resident Evil 2 of the so-called “second campaigns” (Second Run). The same applies to the option with a fixed camera. The camera, traditional for the first parts of the series, has been considered for a long time as one of the bonuses that open after the first passage. The ability to enable auto-aiming in the settings is just an echo of the mode with alternative views of the virtual camera. In the end, this idea had to be abandoned, because it contradicted many fundamental aspects of the game process and the authors simply did not have time to implement it properly.
- In turn, the remake of Resident Evil 3 was mainly developed in the normal mode, without any difficulties. On the contrary, the developers of this game were even ahead of the originally set graphics. According to an insider, the release of Resident Evil 2 was postponed for a year ahead, because of which the actually finished remake of the third part was just waiting in line. And the release in April 2023 was due to many secondary factors, one of which was Capcom’s desire to make at least some pause between the releases of two of its high-profile projects.
- The key team involved in the development of the Resident Evil 3 remake is a relatively newly formed studio. M-two, which includes both young professionals and industry veterans who previously worked in Capcom and Platinum games. Other departments, including developers of the Resident Evil 2 remake, help the M-Two to varying degrees, but this studio occupies a key position. Moreover, now, in addition to Resident Evil 3, it also lists another project from the long-playing series, Resident Evil, which is still unknown.
- In general, the near future of Resident Evil seems rather saturated. According to Dusk Golem, in the next two years after the release of the Resident Evil 3 remake, we will receive two more major projects in the Resident Evil line (in 2023 and 2023, respectively). A game is also planned for 2023, but its release may be delayed until a later date..
- As for the full-fledged Resident Evil 8 and the confusion associated with it, Dusk Golem promises to tell you more about it next month. Mentioned only that created for the game best practices in full we will see it very soon.
- Finally, the insider remembered about the remake of the beloved by many Resident Evil Code: Veronica, and the resurrection of the series Dino crisis. As previously reported, these projects are now definitely not in production. But if you are really interested in them, then Dusk Golem calls more often to remind Capcom itself, which, according to an insider, very carefully listens to absolutely all the requests of its fans on social networks.
