Insider Ming-Chi Kuo previously said that the first computer Apple based on ARM processors will be a 13.3-inch MacBook Pro, but now the analyst has updated the forecast and clarified that at the end of this year or at the beginning of the future we should also expect Macbook air based on an ARM chip.
Kuo believes the cost reduction associated with the switch from Intel to Apple processors will allow the company to lower the price of the MacBook Air. Although so far this is only an assumption.
In addition, in 2023, Apple will release an updated line of MacBook Pro with 14 – and 16-inch screens. True, it is not yet clear whether they will be equipped with proprietary processors or solutions Intel.
Given that the 16-inch model was released at the end of 2019, it is unlikely to be replaced so soon. Switching to their processors will require Apple to redesign motherboards and many elements in laptops.
Most likely, next year the company will only begin a full-fledged transition to ARM chips. After all, at the WWDC conference it was said that it would take at least two years.
