annual drop in movie fees in the US will be at least 40% – review

According to analysts, the total collections of paintings in the United States for 2023 can be about $ 7 billion – this is the lowest figure in the last twenty years.

Moreover, such a forecast is based on the best version of events, in which viewers will begin to actively return to the cinema by mid-July. Some film studios believe in it, so they have not yet moved the premieres of some years.

Like, for example, Warner bros and “Argument” Christopher Nolan, whose premiere is still scheduled for July 17th. One more example – Disney with Mulan, which was moved from March to July 24. However, all this may change, as some analysts had previously predicted.

But even if the situation remains the same, the annual fees in the United States will fall by about 40% compared to last year. In 2019, home rental fees amounted to about $ 11.4 billion. The best forecast at the moment is $ 7.09 billion.

The last time, similar indicators arose in 1999-2000, however, even there they were higher. Due to relocations to 2023, new films will lose nearly $ 2 billion in total.

World fees last year amounted to 42.2 billion dollars, but analysts have not yet decided to accurately predict the figure for this year. Tentatively, the figures may drop to 22-25 billion dollars.
