National Games Museum The strong in New York announced the nominees for the World Video Game Hall of Fame.

This year’s contenders include many familiar games: Animal Crossing, Call of Duty, FarmVille, FIFA International Soccer, Guitar Hero, Mattel Football, Microsoft Flight Simulator, Pole Position, Portal, StarCraft, Tron, and Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego? …
Animal crossing has been nominated for success with both casual and hardcore players, spawning many sequels. Portal nominated for a breakthrough in the puzzle genre, and Call of duty was among the contenders for popularizing the genre of cinematic military first-person shooters and creating one of the best-selling gaming franchises… In turn Starcraft was hailed as the largest esports game of its time, while Microsoft Flight Simulator from the moment of its debut to this day it remains the most popular flight simulator.
Winners will be determined through custom online voting and selection by an international committee of journalists and expert historians. Results will sum up 6th May… There are usually four to six games in the Hall of Fame.
In previous years, the World Video Game Hall of Fame has included Klondike Solitaire, Mortal Kombat, Minecraft, Donkey Kong, Halo: Combat Evolved, Super Mario Bros., DOOM, Tetris, The Legend of Zelda, Grand Theft Auto III, Tomb Raider, Final Fantasy VII and others.
