During the report for the fourth fiscal quarter ended June 30, 2023, the CEO Microsoft Satya Nadella said that Xbox Series X | S are the fastest selling consoles in the history of the company.
Research team estimates Niko Partners, the total number of new generation consoles sold was 6.5 million units. During the same time period, Xbox One shipments reached 5.7 million, and Xbox 360 shipments reached 5 million.
“Xbox Series X | S shipments improved in the last quarter, with iron revenues up 20% year-over-year,” said Daniel Ahmad.
The analyst noted that despite a good start, the Xbox One failed to outperform the Xbox 360’s bottom line. However, the current leaders’ strategy of releasing two different consoles, content and Game Pass should help the Xbox Series X | S maintain its lead.

Sony will release more detailed sales statistics on August 4 when it publishes its quarterly report.
