An unofficial patch for Bloodborne allowed to launch the game in 60FPS on the base PlayStation 4

Standard version Bloodborne works on the base Ps4 at a speed of 30 frames per second, but thanks to an unofficial patch, it was launched at 60fps.

This was done by the blogger Lance MacDonald, a well-known narrow circles fan of games FromSoftware. Previously, he managed to modify the code of Bloodborne and Sekiro so as to play for enemies.

“I patched Bloodborne to run at 60 frames per second,” the blogger writes. “The patch works as it should (approximately as good as the PS4 Pro patch for Dark Souls 3), except for the fact that the game has incorrect timings and it seems to work in fast forward mode. All this on the base PS4. ”

A little later, MacDonald tried to edit the changes, turning off vertical synchronization, achieving 60fps with correct timings, but getting multiple screen breaks.

Then the blogger tried to launch the patched version of Bloodborne on the PS4 Pro in forced mode. Satisfied with the result, MacDonald went to bed, promising to return with a recording in good quality.

“Yeah, I did it! Bloodborne runs at 60fps (disables vertical sync, so there is multiple tearing) with the correct frame timings and game logic. All this works on the PS4 Pro, tomorrow I will try to connect the FPS counter for display and test it in forced mode. “

“Holy saints, I just tried to run it in forced mode and achieved a HUGE breakthrough. I’ll create a good quality record and post it on YouTube after I sleep. ”

Bloodborne was released exclusively on PlayStation 4 in 2015 and has a 30-frame rate locked at 30 frames per second.

MacDonald does not disclose the details of creating custom patches for PS4 games. He deals with them primarily for himself.
