Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences decided to join in the fight against the consequences of the coronavirus pandemic.
Distributing Organization Oscars, will make a donation of $ 6 million, which will be aimed at supporting employees losing their jobs due to the general freezing of the film industry.
Part of the funds from 6 million will go to the Actors Fund, which supports not only the artists themselves, but also workers on the other side of the camera. Another will be sent to the Cinema and Television Foundation, which was created for such purposes back in 1921. In total, 4 million dollars will be divided between them.
The remaining $ 2 million will go to support a grant program that helps young filmmakers receive funding for projects while studying at universities.
