Studio Daedalic entertainment Releases Final Patch for Real-Time Strategy A year of rain. And its main change concerns multi-user modes. Now all matches will take place only on the P2P system, in a peer-to-peer network.
Players who wish to battle others online must now create a lobby that other participants will join. Automatic match selection will no longer be. Leaderboards have disappeared from the game, player statistics are no longer available.
Such a dramatic change is due to the fact that Daedalic Entertainment decided to suspend work on Year Of Rain. An independent studio does not have endless resources, and the player base turned out to be very small.
To minimize costs, the developers canceled a number of planned changes, in particular, a new path finding system. The studio partedly released a number of new cards, as well as the “Against Everything” mode. However, their polishing is not completed.
Frustrated players have already “lowered” Year Of Rain’s rating Steam to “very negative.” In early access to Steam, the game was released in November 2023.
