Publishing house Sony Interactive Entertainment (Sie) made a sudden decision to close the studio in Manchester, which was developing VR projects for Playstation. This was reported to reporters by company representatives.
This is the third studio in the UK to be closed in the last few years. Sony. So, in 2016 ceased to exist Evolution studios and in 2017 – Guerrilla cambridge. Characteristically, they all worked on creating VR projects before disbanding.
The decision to close the SIE office in Manchester is a surprise, for the reason that at the end of January 2023, the studio announced recruitment new employees to develop an unannounced VR game.
