Polish studio Eremite Games has published a free trial version of its upcoming game, a city-building simulator with elements of a roguelike Against the Storm… You can try the demo in Epic Games Store…
The developers explained their choice of the store by financial considerations. For a year and a half, the main part of the team combined work on the game with the main work. The studio negotiated with publishers, tried to resort to crowdfunding, but only negotiations with Epic Games opened up new opportunities for the team.
Due to these major changes, Against the Storm will initially appear on the Epic Games Store. Release in Steam and GOG will only happen in 2023. But the Wroclaw studio is not yet ready to announce the exact dates.
Recall that in Against the Storm we have to lead the tribes of people, beavers and lizards in a world where the rain does not stop. In such conditions, it is necessary to build and develop a settlement in which residents would find protection from constant rainfall.
