In closed alpha files Battlefield 2042 found the details of the mysterious regime Hazard Zone, which DICE has yet to officially unveil.
The developers promised that the regime would be tense and relies heavily on the work of players in squads – even then there were rumors that the Hazard Zone was inspired by Escape from Tarkov… It looks like it really is.
On network locations, players will have to search for data from disks and crashed satellites – both other squads of players and bots will interfere with this. So far, only the card has been confirmed – Orbital… It is unknown if the mode will have unique levels or only adaptive locations from BF 2042 itself.
Hazard Zone maps contain points of interest like an ammunition depot and various complexes for communicating with satellites – they can be used to summon a ranger (robop) and an ATV or revive partners.
Locations are patrolled by AI-controlled fighters – they can call for reinforcements. Among these patrols there are also “bosses” – for their destruction you can get additional bonuses.
Battlefield 2042 launches October 22 on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series, Xbox One and PC. It is not known when the Hazard Zone will be officially presented.
