Snyder spoke about the “Army of the Dead” – Igromania

Netflix released a special video on “Armies of the Dead”, in which the director of the tape Zach Snyder disassembled some of the scenes.

The plot of the picture tells about a group of mercenaries who go to Las Vegas to steal $ 200 million – only the city is literally teeming with zombies.

According to Snyder, in the episode with the restaurant, when Dave Batista busy in the kitchen, the director personally acted as an operator, literally jammed into a dirty corner of the establishment. The actor himself cooked burgers for real, although the result was not always good.

Snyder also added the idea that Batista’s hero literally stores a weapon under the bed in a drawer. And the moment when the mercenary runs to the tops of the gaming tables, firing back at zombies, was one of the episodes that the director came up with long before production began.

In one scene, when the doors explode, part of one of the doors flew off to the side and punched a hole in the scenery. According to the director, the team was lucky that there were no bystanders nearby.

In addition, one of the topical topics for discussion was the practical solution to the export of money from Las Vegas. Since the amount is huge, there is no way for a small squad of heroes to pick up everything at once and load them onto a helicopter. How exactly this problem was solved – Snyder did not mention, apparently, it will have something to do with the plot of the film.

In the episode with the crowds of zombies, the authors reproduced the Vegas sign and built a real wall of containers, leaving space inside them so that you can freely move back and forth. At the same time, everything that is “behind” was created on the green screen.

At one time, the authors wanted to show a scene in a zoo that was captured by a zombie – a huge number of zombie animals would have lived there, but in the end they had to stop at a tiger. The model of the latter was taken from one of the representatives of the show “King of the Tigers”…

Army of the Dead premieres on Netflix on May 21.
