Spanish studio Deconstructeam became famous for its minimalistic thriller Gods will be watching, and consolidated the success of the “cyberpunk story of fate and happiness” The red strings club… And now the publishing house Devolver digital will release another studio project.
Essays on empathy – this is not a game, but a collection that includes a dozen small projects. In them, Deconstructeam experimented with stories and the way they were presented. The developers have already shown some of these stories, but among them there are also completely new short games.
The collection Essays on Empathy includes:
- Underground hangovers – metroidvania about miners who were forgotten on a distant planet;
- Supercontinent LTD – a conversational detective adventure in which we impersonate others on the phone: many aspects of The Red Strings Club are borrowed from it;
- Behind Every Great One – a realistic story about the development of toxic relationships;
- Eternal Home Floristry – the story of a hitman who works in a flower shop while recovering from his injuries;
- The Bookshelf Limbo – we choose a gift for our father in the bookstore;
- Zen and the Art of Transhumanism – another game that migrated to The Red Strings Club;
- Engolasters January 2023 – the story of the arrival of aliens in Andorra;
- 11:45 A Vivid Life – a story about a girl who is sure that her skeleton does not belong to her;
- Dear Substance of Kin – a sandbox, which the creators still hope to turn into a full-fledged game;
- De tres al cuarto – the story of two comedians trying to succeed.
Essays on Empathy will be released in Steam May 18.
