Chairperson Central Bank of Russia Elvira Nabiullina advised schoolchildren not to spend extra money on buying a new generation of consoles Playstation 5… She is confident that the country’s population should be ready for the development of any scenario in the economy.
On April 27, Nabiullina spoke as part of an online lesson in which she told young people about financial literacy in the context of the economic crisis. In particular, she pointed out that citizens should form a “safety cushion” in the amount of six monthly salaries.
The head of the Central Bank also asks not to take loans for unnecessary things, if they can be saved in the usual way. Nabiullina cited PS5 as an example.
“Buying a PS5 is a bad reason to take out a loan,” she said.
In the past few months, Russia has seen a significant increase in prices for almost all categories of goods and services, including electronics. PlayStation 5 consoles are no exception.
Back in February 2023 Retail Companies Association (AKORT) warned about the rise in the price of equipment due to the growth of logistics costs. As the experts emphasized in an interview TASS, in the next six months, the population should prepare for a shortage of electronics and a rise in prices by 10-20%.
