HyperX Pulsefire Haste Mouse Review

Lightweight gaming mice are consistently popular. Some manufacturers use lightweight materials with the ability to adjust the weight using built-in weights, while others are trying to reduce the amount of outer skin, dotting the body with perforations. We will talk about the second option, since our today’s patient is Pulsefire Haste from company HyperX – tries to keep up with trends. The lightest mouse in the entire line Pulsefire… Its official cost is 4490 rubles

The mouse comes in a thin cardboard box, made mainly in white and red with small black inserts. Inside, in addition to the mouse itself, you will find 4 rubber pads with embossed honeycomb texture, which are glued to the sides of the device and on the right and left buttons, as well as a spare set of glides (sliding legs). From the documentation in the kit there is a brief instruction and a cardboard with information about support. On the inner back of the box there is a brief information about the warranty with a link where you can read it in more detail.

The symmetrical body of the mouse allows for the most comfortable positioning of the palm of both the right hand and the left. At the same time, it is convenient to use both a regular palm grip and a claw version or a version with coverage only with the fingertips, which are better suited for games.

Durable matte plastic leaves a pleasant tactile impression when touched, and the case covered with honeycomb perforation makes the mouse not only lightweight, but also adds ventilation, thanks to which the hands do not get hot during long gaming sessions and, accordingly, the palms sweat less.

We don’t know if the components inside are protected from accidental moisture ingress, but the TTC Golden Micro Dustproof Switches under the left and right buttons are protected from dust, and the declared service life of 60 million clicks will allow Pulsefire Haste to be used for many years.

The mouse glides along the surface thanks to the four PTFE glides underneath, like sharpened skates on ice. For greater visual impact, the manufacturer decided to highlight them with an extravagant white color, giving a zest to the Pulsefire Haste’s appearance against the black case. But all this pales against the background of the mouse’s weight of 59 grams – like a breath of breeze. With a cable, the device weighs 80 grams, which in general does not change the perception much, since the 1.8 meter wire does not add a feeling of weight during lightning-fast sliding during a CS: GO or DOTA 2 rink. The texture of the HyperFlex wire braid resembles soft laces – like on trendy sneakers.

The mouse is connected via a standard USB type A connector, which can be easily found in any PC, and a ferrite ring on the wire will help eliminate possible interference during use.

The manufacturer did not re-invent the bicycle and equipped the mouse with six standard buttons, if you count the built-in wheel. Below the middle and forefingers are two main buttons – right and left, which, when gripped by the palm, also provide additional ventilation thanks to the integrated honeycomb holes. Medium effort is enough to engage the switch mechanism and we haven’t noticed any false positives or accidental double clicks during use.

On the left side, by tradition, there are forward and backward buttons with a glossy plastic texture and a rounded shape – they leave pleasant sensations when touched by soft skin of the fingers.

Between the main buttons is a wheel with built-in RGB-backlighting and a rubberized ring in the middle with a nice embossed texture. The wheel turns very easily and at the same time emits a fairly quiet sound. It is pressed in the middle with a little more effort than the main buttons. By default, the light in the wheel shimmers with all the colors of the rainbow and does not dazzle at maximum brightness.

The DPI switch button for adjusting the sensitivity levels is located just below the wheel, and it was impossible to accidentally press it. By the way, the built-in optical sensor PixArt PAW 3335 has a sensitivity from 200 to 16000 dpi thanks to the optical sensor with infrared illumination. The sensor supports a sampling rate of 1000 Hz, as well as withstands acceleration up to 40G and correctly fulfills even the sharpest movements. When you switch the profile, the highlight in the wheel changes color for a short time, depending on the selected option.

By default, 4 preset profiles are available on the mouse. You just need to successively press the DPI button to select one of them: 400, 800, 1600 and 3200. However, for me personally, the sensitivity of 3200 was quite enough, and at the maximum 16000 I lost the mouse cursor when I moved the device carelessly.

It is worth noting that if you download the official HyperX NGENUITY application from the Microsoft Store, then quick profiles can not only be customized for yourself, but also expanded to 5 pieces. There are also advanced lighting settings with a choice of various effects and buttons with the addition of macros.

RESULTS

HyperX Pulsefire Haste is a good mouse that should appeal to fans of light manipulators. It has a high-quality assembly without sharp protruding parts. Buttons and speed of work are also fulfilled at a high level. Unless the price on the market is not the lowest. For this money, I would like the mouse to be also wireless, but because of the batteries, it would lose its main advantage – low weight and speed.
