Magnetic blocks have been added to Minecraft along with the Nether Update in June 2023. In this patch, it became possible to visit the “Nether”, in which it is very easy to get lost. To find your way back, it is the magnetites used in conjunction with the compass that can help.
To bind the compass to the magnetic block, you need to lay the block on the ground and, holding the compass in your hand, right-click on the magnetite. After that, the compass will always point to it, so the magnet should be left in the place where the player plans to return.
Where to find Magnetite in Minecraft
Magnetites can be found in Underworld chests. In appearance, they resemble carved stone bricks, which is not surprising, since this block is one of the components for crafting. It is worth noting that in addition to magnets, many other items are generated in chests, so in order not to rely on luck, it is better to create magnetites yourself.
Making Magnetites in Minecraft
Crafting a magnetic block requires a workbench, eight carved stone bricks, and one netherite ingot. Carved Bricks are crafted from two Slabs of Brick, and Netherite Ore can be obtained by combining four Ancient Debris with four Gold Bars. Ancient fragments, like magnetite itself, are sometimes found in chests. They can also be obtained by digging deep in the Void. It should be borne in mind that this material is very rare, so you have to be patient.
