Portal administration OpenCritic.com, which is an aggregator of ratings, reacted to the scandal surrounding the release of the game Cyberpunk 2077… Users are now shown a warning when navigating to a project page.
According to the statement, the site administration and a number of publications suspected the studio CD Projekt RED in an attempt to hide the technical state of the final version of Cyberpunk 2077. These are the restrictions that were imposed on the reviews.
So, in the materials it was possible to use only screenshots and videos provided in advance by the developers. In addition, most bloggers and journalists were provided with a PC version, although the gaming experience on consoles of the past and new generations is significantly different. Do not forget about the huge number of bugs.
The warning is planned to be removed only in February 2023, when CD Projekt RED promises to release the second global patch (the release of the first update is scheduled for January). The average score for Cyberpunk 2077 on OpenCritic.com dropped to 87/100.
