Owner located in New york retro games store and part-time collector shared his tragic story – he lost games and consoles in an amount approximately equivalent to $ 500 thousand (38 million rubles)…
And the reason for what happened was not at all malefactors or an accident, but the mother of the hero of the story, who simply threw out the pounds “garbage“without realizing its true value.
According to the collector’s assurances, he kept his greatest treasures with his mother at home in the basement, in his “warehouse”, but the woman, apparently poorly aware of her son’s hobbies, sent everything to the trash bin during the cleaning process.
Among those who went to the trash were consoles ColecoVision, Famicom (NES), MegaDrive and “much, much more, including collectible cards and an impressive collection of old comics.”
On a personal blog, the store owner wrote that he was in a state of intense emotional stress and needed time to recover. The collector did not disclose further details of the story or plans to accept attempts to return the lost.
In the comments, many players called the situation very strange and tried to blame the collector himself. He was criticized for his negligence and inability to convey to his mother information about the importance of the stored items. Others suggested that the woman was suffering from some kind of disorder, but even more so then the son should have taken better care of the safety of the collection.
One thing in this story is known for sure – the person who shared the story is real and really works in gaming retail. On the forum ResetEra there are people who have personally visited his store.
After a wave of criticism, he deleted all of his posts on the topic.
