Mini-LED technology is similar to traditional LCD displays in that it is also based on inorganic LEDs, but the Mini-LED uses an array of thousands of very small LEDs located directly behind the matrix itself. In conventional LCD displays, the backlight is located at the edges and combines a maximum of several hundred LEDs. The main advantage of Mini-LED is that this type of display provides a much more localized field of illumination and as a result provides improved contrast, brightness and richer colors with deep blacks, almost like OLED… Another plus is higher energy efficiency, since light is delivered only to the desired areas of the pixels.
