It is noted that the movement is an independent non-profit organization founded by “by industry-leading companies advocating free choice and fair competition within digital ecosystems“. The main positions that the newly educated is going to fight against.”Coalition“- This is a 30% sales tax, tactics aimed at eradicating competition, and the lack of freedom for potential consumers.
Provisions “Coalition for App Fairness“sound like this:
- Application authors should have the freedom to choose their preferred content distribution model, including digital platforms. There should be no additional obligations on the methods of monetization or special systems imposed from the outside.
- Digital platforms should give developers the freedom to distribute content, as well as the ability to choose the monetization systems that are convenient for them. Complete removal from the site for such decisions made by content owners is unacceptable.
- Each developer should be given access to the internal interfaces and technical information that the owners of the platform itself work with.
- Each developer must have access to the platform of their choice as long as the content being distributed satisfies a set of objective and predetermined requirements regarding the safety and privacy of users, and the content and quality of applications.
- Developer data cannot be used to compete with them later.
- Each developer should be able to communicate effectively and directly with their audience directly within the application when it comes to important business issues.
- Digital platform owners should not use their leverage to advertise their content or attract audiences by artificially adjusting the preferences of ordinary users.
- None of the developers should pay unfair, far-fetched taxes. Also, no one should be forced to monetize their content in a special way just to be eligible to stay within the platform.
- None of the owners of digital platforms should prevent the creation of alternative platforms, as well as dissuade developers and users from such alternatives.
- All digital platforms should be as transparent as possible about their rules and requirements for both content distribution and advertising. At the same time, all changes made should be announced in advance, and potential conflicts should be resolved in a short time, without protracted proceedings.
