Virtually all recent Microsoft games like Fable, Avowed, Forza Motorsport and State of Decay 3 on the show were announced only for nextgen. This is not surprising: almost all of them were presented with short CGI trailers, while marking the early stage of production. They are unlikely to be released earlier than 2023, although the publisher does not even name the approximate release dates for any of them.
Many users and journalists immediately noted this – it seems that Microsoft promised at least two years to support Xbox One with its new products, but in the end, in just one presentation, the company managed to confuse everyone in general.
After the end of the show, even more misunderstandings arose: for example, on the website Avowed there was a sudden mention of the Xbox One. As a result, many journalists did not even understand how to write about the company’s latest announcements – on what platforms will they be released?
One site Avowed mentioned the Xbox Series X and PC, the other also mentioned the Xbox One. Now, references to the release of Avowed on Xbox One have been removed from everywhere.
But all new items are primarily developed for the next generation of consoles.
