The Legislative Assembly of St. Petersburg introduced a bill to the State Duma that addresses the issue of the amount of advertising before screenings in the cinema.
The authors of the initiative say that due to the display of advertising before the films, the viewer is misled about the real time of the start of the session. We are talking about advertising different products, as well as trailers.
From the point of view of the authors of the bill, advertising in this segment should not exceed ten minutes, and it should not be shown after the time set as the start of the session.
Representatives of the LDPR party came forward with a similar initiative at the end of last year, but the State Duma legal department noted that the trailer can be attributed not only to advertising, but also to “mandatory information”.
