In a comment posted last night for Eurogamer company Ubisoft could not confirm that Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla will work on Xbox Series X at a speed of 60 FPS, noting that now we are talking about a figure of at least 30 FPS in 4K. The news caused heated discussions, because last week the general manager of marketing Xbox Aaron Greenberg reportedthat although the new console will support games at 120 FPS, the standard for it is exactly 60 FPS.
It turned out that Greenberg initially expressed himself not quite correctly. Today he specified, what support for standard 60 frames per second is optional. According to him, game developers for the Xbox Series X have flexibility in how to use the power of the console.
Developers always have flexibility in how they use the power, so a standard or common 60fps is not a mandate.

In other words, studios will be able to make their games on the Xbox Series X either super-beautiful, but at 30 FPS, or sacrifice some graphic twists and resolution in favor of a higher frame rate. Similarly, now developers can choose which direction to turn the capabilities of the Xbox One X and PlayStation 4 Pro.
The launch of the Xbox Series X will take place in the Christmas season of 2023.
