It was obvious, but now officially confirmed. In a statement to IGN Swedish studio Dice reported that the next part of a series of battlefield shooters is created for Xbox Series X and Playstation 5.
Both platforms will launch this fall, however EA is not going to push the project to release non-x-ray systems. The game will be released in 2023, when the new consoles gain enough user base. The statement does not explicitly mention this, but apparently the shooter will no longer appear on the current Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
“The release of Battlefield in 2023, when the new console base is still quite small, does not match the potential of the title, which has become one of the factors transferring the game to fiscal 22,” EA said.
So far, the company has not disclosed the details of the project, noting only that the game is aimed at “new innovations” that will be possible thanks to non-x-ray platforms.
