December 13th Gearbox software officially announced the first game for Playstation 5 – a lighter slasher called Godfall. Then the creative director of the project is Keith Lee, who is also the head of the development studio. Counterplay games, spoke in detail about his game, noting that the team will share the next piece of information in the spring of 2023.
An article was published in the May issue of the English edition of Official PlayStation Magazine, where journalists shared some information about the game. According to information published in the magazine, Godfall will use the vast majority of revolutionary PS5 features, such as ray tracing technology, fast downloads and 3D sound that allows you to clearly hear the steps of enemies behind.
The authors describe Godfall as a mixture of Dark Souls, Destiny, and Monster Hunter World. According to the published material, melee mechanics were created with an eye on those from FromSoftware games, and special features were taken directly from Destiny from Bungie.
Cooperative interaction with other team members migrated from Monster Hunter World, in which players meet powerful and dangerous enemies. As in the game from Capcom, Godfall bosses are created exclusively for team interaction. So, when playing with a friend, the enemy you meet will not get hung up on only one player. In return, he will provoke various attacks and develop battle tactics.
The start of the game will meet users with three different types of armor that determine the class of players. New ones will open during the game.
Other details:
- Godfall is being developed right under the PS5, without regard to the PS4 and cross-gene;
- The development team consists of 75 people;
- It includes former Bungie employees who created Destiny 2;
- The project encourages an aggressive game. The skill scale is filled when dealing maximum damage;
- visual style and building the world were created under the influence of the books “Buresvet Archive”, “First Law” and “Foundation”;
- the protagonist is one of the last surviving members of the Order of the Knights, who is tasked with stopping the apocalypse.
Godfall will be released on PS5 and PC in 2023.
