The company said that in 2019, about 1,100 fresh releases earned over 10 thousand dollars in the first two weeks after the release. According to the results of the first 12 months, most of them earned from 20 to 60 thousand dollars.
For the platform, this is a record figure, which is only growing every year.
Last year, growth was 18%, while the overall success of the average release increased by 11%. Compared to 2013, the number of games with revenue above 10 thousand dollars has tripled.
Another interesting observation by Valve is that more successful games earned more, while less successful games even less. And the segmentation trend, it seems, will only intensify.
In addition, Valve notes that the opening of the platform for young developers through Steam Greenlight and Steam Direct at one time was one of the most important events for such a rapid growth in the number of successful titles.
