American Video Game Manufacturers Association Entertainment Software Association (ESA) officially announced that in 2023 the exhibition Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) will not work. As stated in the statement, the reason for the cancellation was the situation with the spread of the coronavirus COVID-2019.
“After careful consultations with partner companies regarding the health and safety of all people in the industry — our fans, our employees, our exhibitors, our long-standing E3 partners — we made the difficult decision to cancel E3 2023, scheduled for June 9-11 in Los “Angeles,” the press service explained.
It is also interesting that just a week ago, the ESA claimed that the organizers did not intend to revise their plans to prepare for the E3 2023. However, after this event began to develop rapidly: on March 6, a production company iam8bit announced that she was no longer working on a program of events for the exhibition, and on March 11, Bloomberg announced the cancellation of E3.
Update: ESA representatives plan to coordinate with gaming companies to organize an online broadcast of major news and announcements in June 2023.
