Resident evil 8 not yet announced, however, news about it continues to arrive. This week a summary list of new possible game details shared by an insider appeared on the network Chaotic claire and journalists of the German portal GAMEZ.de.
GAMEZ.de:
- Information from an insider of DuskGolem that recently leaked details to the network described an already canceled version of the game is erroneous. The details circulated by the Biohazard Declassified website are mostly true.
- Resident Evil 8 will again offer a first-person view. Nothing is known about VR support, but the introduction of such a feature makes sense, journalists say.
- Discussions about whether the name of the game will contain a digit or not at this stage do not make sense. The release will take place in at least one and a half to two years, and such things can still change during this time.
- The game will unfold in Eastern Europe or in the territory of the country adjacent to this region. At some point, the action will be transferred to a village with snowy landscapes and a castle, but the structure itself will not be as large as in Resident Evil 4. The environment and design of the enemies are inspired by medieval themes.
- There will be no real werewolves in the game, but creatures that look like wolves will appear. The zombies will be back too. Some will be dressed in knightly armor and armed with swords.
- A new type of adversary-persecutor, originally described as a ghostly female figure, is actually a witch, and there can be several. Capcom does not revive the concept of RE 3.5, but creates something fundamentally new.
- Resident Evil 8 will be more action-packed compared to the seventh part and in some respects is more like the addition of Not a Hero. Chris Redfield will appear – his return will be connected with a certain twist.
- Production is progressing normally and has not restarted, as claimed in recent rumors. One of Capcom’s veterans is the game director, but before that he led the development of only one game and mainly took part in projects as an executive producer.
Chaotic claire:
- The current version uses first-person view and there is support for virtual reality helmets. The main characters are Ethan Winters and Chris Redfield, and the game itself is described as “innovative.”
- The development of the game has been going on for a long time, and initially, Capcom worked on three different concepts for Resident Evil 8. The testers were shown the third version. - Part of the test version was hybrids of dogs and people with reptiloid facial features. Opponents of persecution will appear, similar to the witch from The Evil Within. The latter will become part of hallucinations.

At the same time, both informants note that the game is still under active development and a lot can change by the time of the announcement.
The next release in the series will be a remake of Resident Evil 3. Its premiere will take place in early April.
