On the platform YouTube new rules have come into force that will add problems to creators of content targeted at children’s audience. This is a set of provisions called Made for kid.
After criticism from US Federal Trade Commission in Google decided to review their policies with a view to “protecting children and their privacy.” Now in YouTube Studio it will be necessary to note whether the videos from the channel are suitable for children or not. In the first case, personalized ads, comments, chats and notifications will be disabled.
At the same time, YouTube clearly decided to take the path of least resistance and went too far, for anyone who watches a video marked Made for Kids will automatically be considered a minor. The owners of channels that create children’s content will also be under attack: they will lose a part of their income and feedback from the audience.
