80% of Resident Evil Village’s circulation in England went to PlayStation

Resident evil village expectedly topped the fresh UK retail charts, marking the second largest release in the region in 2023 – ahead only Super Mario 3D World + Bowser Fury

The eighth part of the famous horror movie performed especially well on PlayStation consoles – they accounted for 80% of circulation (49% for PS5 and 31% for PS4), while Xbox systems shared the remaining 20%.

The launch run of RE Village on PS5 turned out to be the third – only “Spider-Man: Miles Morales“And Assassin’s creed valhalla… Moreover, in the first days of sales, the new product has already managed to become the seventh in circulation on the console.

However, the start can hardly be called successful against the background of previous major releases: sales are 25% lower than the results of the remake Resident evil 2 and 40% lower than indicators Resident evil 7 – however, the eighth part performed 76% better than last year’s remake Resident evil 3

Analysts suggest that the growth in digital distribution should at least compensate for the decline in interest in retail copies.

But Returnal lost 84% of copies in a week and dropped to 15th place.
