The Ascent takes place in the futuristic city of Veles, which until recently was owned by the powerful corporation Ascent Group. However, suddenly it stopped acting, and now the established systems are falling apart before our eyes, and the corporation’s mercenaries are left to their own devices.
Players will play the role of one of the cogs of the corporate machine, which now turned out to be unsupported in the conditions when Ascent Group rivals became active, and criminal groups are trying to take advantage of the bustle. Heroes have to survive and find their place in a changing world.
Portal IGN posted 12 minutes of direct gameplay from an early alpha version of the game. They plan to release The Ascent later this year, and the PC and Xbox Series X are named as platforms.
